As the saying goes, “Life is what happens while you’re busy making plans,” and in the interval between my interview with Marc (about ten days) and this episode. > **The deadline for the EUDR to come into full effect has been delayed for one year.** [EUDR ‘no risk’ status cancelled and 12 month delay reconfirmedThe controversial EUDR no risk status has been provisionally binned in a ‘trilogue’ between the European Council, Commission and Parliament.![](https://thechocolatelife.com/content/images/icon/favicon.ico)Ground News![](https://thechocolatelife.com/content/images/thumbnail/ground-news-social.jpeg)](https://ground.news/article/eudr-no-risk-exemption-proposal-dropped?ref=thechocolatelife.com) Marc and I discussed this possibility in the episode and he opined that delay was unlikely because of the huge investments and commitments made to meet the year-end 2024 deadline. There was also a risk that delaying the enforcement date could open the legislation to changes that would weaken it considerably.
