Even though I am up at nearly 1500 meters above sea level in Yavapai County in the Bradshaw Mountains, the daily high temperatures regularly exceed 30ºC. Is that too hot for chocolate? (As hot as that is, it’s routinely 40-45ºC down in the Phoenix Valley so I am fortunate for that). > I say **not**. SO ⋯ in this episode of #PodSaveChocolate, I am going to be tasting some local treats I picked up at the Saturday Farmer’s Market (only one of which contains chocolate, but I learned something new about the other, a pastry, from the proprietor of the stand where I bought it), three items shipped from Japan (two of which are made with an unusual ingredient), and a random selection of items with chocolate in them from my local “specialty” grocery store (a Sprouts) and one childhood favorite from the local See’s shop across the parking lot from the Sprouts. and maybe more. Join me in this informal *slouching toward the mid-summer doldrums* tasting. --- ### **what was tasted** 1️⃣ Portuguese (Azorean) **Quejadas de Leite* (milk cheesecake).
