Episode 109 Overview
This episode features my concluding thoughts on the 2025 Salon du Chocolat NYC with mentions of brands not covered in Part 2 of my trip report (post link below — links to companies mentioned will be added after the episode airs), and details of my chocolate adventures in NYC.
1️⃣ The Salon – Show Reflections
My pre-show coverage of the Salon.
At the Salon.
Currently looking for distribution in the US.
Buttercrunch – pecan and almond. Located in Texas.
Chocolate-covered dates selection box. Located in Massachusetts.
I did leave the show with a lot more chocolate than I am sharing here but as I was not returning to AZ for a week and not checking a bag, there was a limit to how much I could carry back with me. So I ate a lot of it and shared what would not fit with colleagues, friends, and family.
Marron (chestnut cream); chocolate covered orange and ginger. No retail location.
Retail location on 40th St between 5th and 6th.
Located in New Hampshire.

Resource Links
This is the list of 2025 exhibitors. I will be adding links to brands mentioned during the episode in an update to this post.
In Closing: Rule #1 Redux
Do Your Homework
Three lists with many overlapping recommendations – at least one entry is way out of date. If all you knew about the best chocolate in NY was from these lists, you’d have some amazing experiences – but there are many missing pieces.
Before you plan your route, check to make sure the store is not permanently closed and for hours of operation. The listings, even on mapping and review sites are often wrong.
One thing about the lists above is they are not inclusive in addition to being out of date (ref: Gabriel Kreuther).
Missing are Cocoa Store (Union Square), Chelsea Market Baskets (Chelsea Market 15th-16th Sts/9th-10th Aves), and Spoiled Parrot (Tin Building at South Street Seaport, which I was told – too late to visit – has an umatched (in Manhattan, anyway) bar selection along with candy and confectionery.)
