This episode of TheChocolateLifeLIVE will feature Dustin Cornett, the creator and organizer of the Craft Chocolat Challenge. Also joining the conversation with be Mark Joyce of Blue Spruce Chocolates in Kittredge, Colorado, a winner in the 2023 Craft Chocolat Challenge.

We’ll be discussing the origin of the challenge, the judging process, the winners, and the format of the online tasting. We will be talking with Mark about his experience as an entrant in the Challenge as well as about what being a winner in the Challenge has meant for his business.

The 2023 Craft Chocolat Challenge Online Tasting Event
Each seat includes a tasting kit with full bars of ALL 12 winners of the 2023 Craft Chocolat Challenge, a link to the LIVE virtual tasting event on Sunday, November 12th, 2023, PLUS notes from Dustin and Clay.
About the Tasting
I know that many members of TheChocolateLife (and visitors) have been following the Craft Chocolat Challenge. The 2023 edition was the second.
Once the results were announced, Dustin and I discussed how to build awareness for the Challenge in general, and the 2o23 and 2024 challenges in particular. Our first thought was to organize a virtual tasting event featuring all 12 of the winners of the 2023 Craft Chocolat Challenge – the Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners in four different categories: Dark, Milk, White, and Inclusion bars. 12 bars from the following nine winning makers will be included in the tasting kit:

- Fjorden Skojolade (Norway)
- Gansett Craft Chocolate (US)
- Kesshō (China/US)
- Mausi Chocolate (US)

Non-members may purchase up to three tickets per transaction.
SHIPPING FAQ
Each kit includes USPS Priority shipping within the US. When you check out you will be asked to provide a main shipping address. If you purchase more than one seat, we will contact you for additional shipping addresses. Multiple kits to the same address will receive one or more bonus chocolate bars to compensate for the difference in shipping costs.
TIMING & DURATION FAQ
The start time and duration of the event have not yet been set. Most likely it will be in the early evening East Coast Time on Sunday the 12th, and last for at least 90 minutes.
What Else Is Included In the Tasting Kit? FAQ
To save on paper, a PDF that includes all of the tasting notes and other information will be emailed about a week before the event. Pay close attention as you unpack your tasting kit as there may be some surprise swag inside! One lucky participant – picked at random – will receive a limited-edition 2oth Anniversary T-shirt (which you will be expected to wear during the tasting).
When Will I Get the Link to the Event? FAQ
The link to the event (Google Meet) will be sent in the same email that includes the Tasting Notes and other information

My 30th Anniversary Tasting is scheduled for February 11th, 2024. I will make an announcement about the cost and start selling tickets after Thanksgiving, in time for end-of-year holiday gifting.
