Special Report: Climate Change and Land
At its 43rd Session in Nairobi, Kenya, 11 – 13 April 2016, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) decided to prepare a special report on climate change, desertification, land degradation, sustainable land management, food security, and greenhouse gas fluxes in terrestrial ecosystems.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change.
The Special Report referenced in this article was developed under the joint scientific leadership of Working Groups I, II, III in cooperation with the Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories, and supported by the Working Group III Technical Support Unit.
TL;DR – It’s a very long and dense read. I suppose if you’re a hardcore climate change denier this is is not going to change your position. But for those of us who are convinced, it’s way past time time to make some fundamental changes.
