Though I am a lifelong chocolate connoisseur, some of these came as a surprise!
And…since it was a B & W movie, the color didn’t matter — it just had to have the consistency of blood. I always thought it was red corn syrup — I’ve heard that’s what they use nowadays in blood scenes for TV, but usually that blood doesn’t have to “flow.” OK, I gotta get back to chocolate as food.
@vegforlife – chocolate syrup is used because it apparently flows – and mixes with water – the way blood does. Ketchup would not – it’s an entirely different consistency. And real blood? That’s just gross 🙂
@DiscoverChoc, I watched that movie fairly recently. Interesting to know that chocolate was used in the shower scene instead of blood/ketchup.
A fun collection of factoids – some well known, others not. #16 – the shower scene in Psycho is one great example.
